Mokelumne Hill is located in Northern California, approximately 1 hour from both Sacramento and Stockton, and 2 1/2 hours from the San Francisco Bay Area. It is only a few hours from world-class ski resorts (like Bear Valley and Kirkwood), Reno, Tahoe and Carson City (Nevada). [MAP] World-renowned wineries are a few miles away.
At an elevation of 1500 feet, with a gentle climate year round, Mokelumne Hill has been dubbed the “Citrus Belt” of California.
Founded in 1848, Mokelumne Hill is one of the original Gold Rush towns, and still retains much of its historic charm. Population is currently 600+ residents, and tourists visit the area year round.
